Shao grew up in Minnesota helping her parents and grandmother farm in the summer, and sold vegetables and crafts at the farmer’s market. After over 15 years of working in the tech industry, she went back to her roots of gardening while raising two children with her husband. Shao has a passion for growing plants and sharing her knowledge. Shao enjoys being a plant collector with “too many plants.” She’s often seen volunteering at the community garden, teaching children about plants, donating to the Plant Stand, sharing fall harvest with neighbors, raising Monarch Butterflies, crafting botanical gifts, socializing at plant swaps, and taking photos of her garden progress.
